A look back at the 2014 Festival

This lavishly illustrated 64-page booklet, edited by Rosie Clay, commemorates The George Herbert Festival 2014. Packed with photographs taken during the four days of the Festival, it includes reports and summaries of many of the events, together with the reflections of many of the contributors and reactions from those who attended.


Contents

Following a preface by Festival Chairman Judy Rees and introductory pieces by Rowan Williams and Festival Co-Chairman Peter Webster, the booklet contents is divided into four sections:

  • 'I know the wayes of learning' - summaries and reports of the various talks, especially the two evening events in Salisbury Playhouse.

  • 'My musick shall finde thee' - covering the Festival's musical talks and performances, including the memorable Wilton House concert.

  • 'Among the best in art' - including the art and calligraphy workshops, and the stained glass presentation.

  • 'The way to heavens door' - covering the Festival's spritual dimension, with an abridged text of the Festival Eucharist sermon in Salisbury Cathedral.

Included in all these sections are many of the appreciative quotations received from people attending the Festival, and there are also three double-page picture spreads. For further details, see the Contents Page.
